Summertime!

The summer has been a fun one. We went to Utah for several weeks to visit our family and friends. The boys had alot of fun playing and swimming with their cousins. We also went on a hike up to timpanogos cave. We went with my brother Eric and his three kids and my dad went too. We did have fun but by the time we made it down the mountain I thought I was going to die!! I was sore for a good week after that. I am so out of shape it is pathetic. The kids all had a good time though and we got some really good pictures from up there.

Once we got home from Utah we have spent alot of time at the pool here at our apartment complex, and at some of the lakes that are really close going jet skiing. We have had a blast, the only thing that sucks is the heat! Some days have been so bad that the only thing you can stand to do is stay inside. Luckily the month of August has been better, it seems to be cooling off some.

Max's Award

Today was the fourth grade award ceremony, Max recieved the Principal's Honor Roll Award. It is for the achievement of having all A's in the second semester of school. I have to say that we are so very proud of Max. He has always gotten A's in school. I know that he is only in elementary school, but honestly he has only gotten one B his whole time in school up to now. Max is in the Quest program here in GA and that is their gifted and talented program and it has really been a blessing. He is so much above his grade level in pretty much all his subjects and always has been. Matter of fact when I came to realisation about how smart my little boy is I was not only very relieved, but also afraid that he may get bored if we were not able to get him into something to challenge him. So Thank God for Quest! Max's teacher this year is Mrs. Whitehead, and according to Max she is the best teacher he has had to date and he is going to cry on the last day of school because she has taught him so much especially in math, his favorite subject.

Getting ready for summer!

Well the weather here in GA has been great! We have aleady been going to the pool, the kids love to swim so they have been really excited that it is that time of year. The pool is pretty cold still so Dave & I haven't braved it as of yet. But we have been trying to get some sun regardless. Max's baseball games have been alot of fun, his team is doing pretty good. Both of the boys are really looking forward to our trip to Utah in just a few weeks!! They are looking forward to visiting all their cousins, and friends there. I am very excited to be going also, I look forward to it every year!! Dave will be joining us for the first week or so, and we have a few things planned already with his family, matter of fact his dad will be coming up from St George and it looks like we are going to be spending a few days with him in Midway at his condo. It should be alot of fun, I think the boys will really enjoy it.

Max & Baseball...

Well so far Max is really enjoying playing baseball. We have had a few hurdles along the way but we are working through them. His team the Marlins are doing pretty well so far, they have won 2 out of 3 games. Matter of fact they played the Phillies tonight and they won 21 to 1!!
All the boys on his team are really nice and seem to really love playing. Some of them are veterans as they call them and some of them are newbies like Max but all in all they get along really well and are having fun.

Student of the month!!

Last friday, Tyler was awarded for being student of the month for March!
I was so surprised and happy! The school had a special award ceremony that the parents of each student attended and they had refreshments afterward. It was really cool. Tyler was so cute when he was asked to go up front and get his award from the principal, he was a little shy. We are very proud of him, according to the letter sent home a few days before notifying us about all this said that the teachers picked students that had met certain requirements. The teacher also wrote a note to & about Ty and how much she enjoyed him in her class and how well he was doing and how he reads way above the kindergarten level. All in all it was really cool for him to feel special.

We had visitors!!!

This past week Bridgey and Paul came down here to visit. We had a good time, the boys especially did. Dave and Paul spent alot of time playing ball with them both. We did not get to do a whole lot, but I think it was a blessing in disguise, poor Bridgey was really worn out from all that she has done this past month. (Cannot say that I blame her!)
For the most part we hung here at the house, and just enjoyed the company. We are looking forward to heading out to Utah in May, matter of fact Dave is going to be flying out to visit for a week during the time the boys and I will be there.

Baseball

Recently we signed max up for baseball at the local rec center. He started going to practices and seems to really love it. He has never really played before so he is learning everything pretty much from scratch. Of course because he is so critical of himself he has gotten a little discouraged from time to time if he hasn't hit the ball or something. Over all though he is doing great! I cannot wait to get his uniform to see how he looks in it, thats a mom thing I know, but I think he will look so cute. I will post a picture or two when I get some good ones, hopefully once the actual games start I will.
